The results of "Youth of Central Asia and the puzzle of climate action" session within the framework of the international conference "The Silk Road of Knowledge: Meeting Science and Green Policy"

🎉A youth session "Youth of Central Asia and the puzzle of climate action" was held within the framework of the international online conference "The Silk Road of Knowledge: Meeting Science and Green Policy".

The meeting discussed issues of climate security and water resources in the region.
In the first part of the session, the speakers were:
◾Natalya Vehmer is an expert on economic issues of UNESCAP, who spoke about the role of youth in achieving sustainable development both in the world and in the Central Asia region.
◾Vlastimil Samek - Representative of the UN Department of Global Communications, UN EC, who outlined the importance of the new generation in addressing climate and water issues.
◾Larisa Kogutenko - Head of the IWRM Master's Program, who gave a short excursion into the climate security of Central Asia.

👥In the second part, interactive events were presented in the form of a colloquium, where representatives of youth organizations and initiatives spoke about the activities of youth in the field of climate and water resources.

👉🏻 The event was open to:
- young professionals;
- eco-activists;
- students and scientists from all countries of Central Asia (CA) and neighboring countries.

The final event of the session was the group work of the participants of the youth session in the World Cafe format, which provided guests with the opportunity to:
◾ to participate in the process of developing a statement from the young generation of Central Asia;
◾Participate in the process of developing a statement from the youth of Central Asia, which will be presented at the World Water Forum in December 2022.
